Kansas City-Style Barbecued Brisket Dip

1poundbarbecued brisket (chopped)
1⁄2cupyellow onion
1clovegarlic (minced)
1 1⁄4cuptomato-based barbecue sauce
4ouncejalapeño peppers (chopped)
8ouncecream cheese (softened)
1⁄3cuppecorino cheese (monterey jack or parmesan may also be used)


Heat oven to 350F. Lightly oil a baking dish or an ovenproof ceramic chafing dish.

Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, stirring to distribute them evenly. Transfer to the baking dish. Bake for 20 or 30 minutes, or until just bubbly and completely heated through. Serve immediately, with slices of French Bread.
