InstructionsHeat oven to 400F. Arrange apples, peeled side up, in 2-quart rectangular baking dish. Place 1 tablespoon sugar in cavity of each and dust generously with cinnamon and nutmeg. Dot each with 1 teaspoon butter. Pour boiling juice or cider to depth of 1/8 inch in bottom of dish. Bake uncovered 45 to 60 minutes, or until tender, basting two or three times with juices. Serve hot or cold, topped with cream, if desired. |
