InstructionsHeat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar with cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add apples, cranberries, corn syrup, and orange peel; toss to mix. Spoon into a shallow 2-quart baking dish. For topping, combine walnuts or uncooked oats with brown sugar and flour. With a pastry blender or fork, cut into butter until crumbly. Sprinkle topping over apple-cranberry mixture. Bake 50 minutes or until apples are tender and juices that bubble in the center are shiny and clear. Cool slightly and serve warm. |
