InstructionsPeel and core apples and cut into slices. Toss in a baking dish with cinnamon and sugar; more or less may be added according to how sour, or flavorful, the apples are; add a sprinkling of grated nutmeg. For the topping, mix flour and sugar together. Cut butter into small pieces and blend lightly with fingertips into dry mixture. Sprinkle this crumblike over apples. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until apples are bubbling over onto browned, crusty top. |
