Bourbon Ribs

Ingredients

4poundbeef or pork ribs
1mediumonion (chopped)
1⁄2cuplight molasses
1⁄2cupketchup
2teaspoonorange peel (finely shredded)
1⁄3cuporange juice
2tablespoonvegetable oil
1tablespoonvinegar
1tablespoonsteak sauce
1⁄2teaspoonprepared mustard
1⁄2teaspoonworcestershire sauce
1⁄4teaspoongarlic powder
1⁄4teaspoonsalt
1⁄4teaspoonpepper
1⁄4teaspoonhot pepper sauce
1⁄8teaspooncloves
1⁄4cupbourbon

Instructions

In a large Dutch oven or saucepan combine the ribs with enough water to cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 40 to 55 minutes, until the ribs are tender. Remove from the heat and drain thoroughly.

In a medium saucepan combine the remaining ingredients. Bring the sauce to a boil and gently simmer uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes.

Grill the ribs over slow coals for about 45 minutes, turning every 15 minutes and basting with the sauce. Extra sauce can be serve with the meat.
