InstructionsHeat oven to 450F. Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, baking soda and salt in medium-size bowl. Cut in chilled butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk. Turn dough onto floured board. Knead lightly, about 10 strokes. Roll dough 1-1/4 inch thick. Cut into 3-inch circles. Arrange biscuits with sides touching in buttered 9-inch square baking pan. Brush tops lightly with melted butter. Bake until golden, about 25 minutes. Serve warm. |
