Coconut Crisps

3cupminiature marshmallows
1⁄4cupbutter or margarine
4 1⁄2cuppuffed rice cereal (think: krispies)
1cupflaked coconut
12 red or green candied cherries (quartered)


Into top of double boiler measure marshmallows and butter. Heat over hot water, stirring occasionally, until smooth and blended. Remove from water. Add cereal, coconut; stir until they are well coated with marshmallow mixture. Turn into lightly greased 13x9x2-inch pan and, with moistened hands, press mixture evenly over bottom of pan. Cool. Cut into 1-1/2 inch squares. Top each with cherry bit.
