1⁄2poundboneless pork loin (cut into 1/2-inch cubes)
1teaspoonvegetable oil
1cupcarrots (thinly sliced)
1cuppotatoes (sliced)
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
28ouncetomatoes (crushed & undrained - canned is fine)
1⁄4teaspoonoregano leaves (crushed)
  red pepper sauce
  ground black pepper


Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium heat; add pork and brown lightly. Stir frequently. Add carrots, potatoes, onion soup mix, sugar, water, tomatoes, oregano and red pepper sauce. Season with pepper to taste. Heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a boil.

Reduce heat to simmer. Cover and cook gently for 30 minutes.
