InstructionsIn top of double broiler, over hot, not boiling, water, melt 1/2 cup chocolate pieces. Let cool. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In large bowl of electric mixer, at medium speed, beat butter, sugar, and egg until light and fluffy. At low speed, beat in melted chocolate and 1/4 cup warm water. Then beat in flour mixture, just until combined. With spoon, stir in remaining chocolate pieces and the nuts. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, heat oven to 375F. Lightly grease cookie sheets. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls, 3 inches apart, onto prepared cookie sheets. Decorate, if desired, with chopped nuts. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Remove to wire rack; cool. |
