InstructionsHeat plums and sugar in large saucepan, stirring constantly, to boiling; boil uncovered 3 minutes. Puree mixture in blender or food processor; press through sieve; cool. Cover 2 baking sheets with plastic wrap; spread half of the plum mixture on each baking sheet to 1/4-inch thickness. Let stand uncovered outdoors in full sunlight until puree can be easily peeled off, 12 to 24 hours. (If puree is not dried by end of first day, bring pans inside and complete drying second day.) Drying can also be completed in 150F oven; leave door open. Roll leather in plastic wrap; overwrap with second sheet of plastic wrap. |
