Marinated Sliced Tomatoes

4largetomatoes (1-1/2 pounds)
1⁄4cupsalad oil (i.e. your choice of olive oil, vegetable oil or other)
1tablespoonlemon juice
1⁄2teaspoonminced garlic
1⁄2teaspoondried oregano leaves


Peel and slice tomatoes. Arrange in a shallow dish.

Combine oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and oregano; mix well.

Pour over tomatoes. Refrigerate, covered, several hours, until well chilled.
