Plum Compote

Ingredients

1 1⁄2pounditalian prune plums (pitted and quartered)
1⁄3cupsugar (or to taste)
1⁄4cupvodka
2tablespoonorange-flavored liqueur
  zest of one lemon (in strips)

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in serving bowl. Refrigerate, stirring occasionally, about 3 hours. Serve with butter cookies and crème fraîche or sour cream.

Notes

Preparation time does not include refrigeration time.
