Teriyaki Plum Appetizers

InstructionsMake 1-1/4 inch lengthwise slit on one side of each prune/plum; remove pit, leaving prune whole. If using prunes with no pits, still make the 1-1/4 inch slit so that the prunes may be stuffed. Heat plums, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, sherry and garlic in medium-size saucepan to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 2 minutes. Refrigerate covered 3 hours. Heat oven to 550°F and/or broil. Place one cheese cube in each plum; wrap one bacon strip around each plum; secure with wooden picks. Place on wire rack over 15" x 10" x 1" baking pan. Broil 4 inches from heat, turning once, until bacon is crisp and brown, about 6 minutes. |
